Uhm, i think you should watch house again. His father isn't absent at all. In fact, he's the antithesis of 'everybody lies'. He doesn't lie, he tells everything like it is, without any regards of hurting his son's (house) feelings. That's why house doesn't like him.
About your drawing, maybe use stronger outlines?
